Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak Inc. (MKO) is hiring one (1) Coordinator under the MKO Path Forward for Investigations of Former Indian Residential School Sites Project (Path Forward Project). Under the direction of the Path Forward Project Manager, the Coordinator will help oversee the delivery of the Path Forward Project. A large role will be played in providing the Path Forward Team with coordination, communication, and technical support. This position reports directly to the Path Forward Project Manager.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Path Forward Project Manager with daily
  • Organize and attend stakeholder/organizational/council/community
  • Develop documents such as meeting minutes, briefing notes, and
  • Assist with drafting mid-year and final
  • Assist with the delegation and completion of
  • Maintain effective communication with the 26 MKO
  • Assist with the coordination and delegation of tasks to
  • Co-develop a community-engagement strategy for the Path Forward
  • Co-develop engagement summaries, surveys, posters, schedules, as
  • Co-develop budgets for MKO led events and
  • Assist with the coordination of staff in-community and at IRS
  • Identify professional development training, workshops, learning opportunities for
  • Other tasks as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of skills and
  • Experience working with First Nation
  • Experience or understanding of Indian Residential School/Day School/60 Scoop
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural skills to work in a First Nation
  • Proficiency with computerized systems (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Canva).
  • Flexibility to travel by air, road, boat to First Nations communities throughout
  • Possess a valid Manitoba driver’s license and have access to a reliable
  • Preference will be given to First Nation applicants.

Salary is dependant upon qualifications and experience.
