Treaty Five Territory, Thompson, MB – Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak (MKO) Inc. is hosting a virtual engagement session for Northern Manitoba citizens on February 1st, 2022, from 8:30 am to 4 pm.

“This session is an opportunity to join MKO in reviewing and determining priorities related to addressing gender-based violence and the 231 Calls for Justice from the Final Report of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls,” said Grand Chief Garrison Settee.

“We encourage families impacted by the issue of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people to attend this event along with survivors of gender-based violence, MKO First Nations leadership, service providers, and frontline workers from Northern Manitoba, shared Hilda Anderson-Pyrz, Director of MKO’s MMIWG Liaison Unit.

Health supports will be available to those who need support during this event.

There is no cost to attend this event. Registration closes this Friday, January 28, 2022, at 4:30 pm.
