“Tansi. My name is Grand Chief Garrison Settee of the Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak. I would like to thank everyone for continuing to be diligent in following public health measures.
I want to encourage you to avoid large gatherings, always wear a mask in public, and continue to wash your hands thoroughly.
The COVID-19 vaccines bring us some hope. There are currently four types of vaccines in Canada that have been approved.
I have yet to receive my vaccine, but I will do so when I become eligible. I commend everyone who has chosen to receive their vaccine already. You are doing your part to keep yourself and your community safe.
Everyone who is 18 and older and living in a First Nation will soon have the option to get a COVID-19 vaccine.
If you have questions about the vaccine, please talk to your health care provider.
We share regular updates on the vaccines on our MKO social media pages.
I want to thank all the experts who have been working hard to prioritize the vaccine distribution in Manitoba.
Please stay safe. Ekosani.”
