On behalf of Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak Inc., and our 26 member First Nations, we are saddened to hear of the passing of our friend, colleague, and ally, Mr. Harvey Pollock. We would like to extend our condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.

Harvey Pollock was a strong ally for First Nations for many years, representing the family of the late J.J. Harper during the Aboriginal Justice Inquiry at a time when racism and discrimination within the justice system was tangible. In fact, he continued to stand by the Harper family and Manitoba First Nations following the release of the Aboriginal Justice Inquiry. His work and dedication during that time resulted in a long overdue change within the system leading to long-term changes, some of which are still felt today.

Harvey’s service, character, and kindness will not be forgotten. He will be missed, but his legacy will live on and our community will continue to honor him as he moves on to the Spirit World.
