Treaty Five Territory, Thompson, MB – Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak (MKO) Inc. is recognizing 17-year-old Conner Roulette for being a gold medal winner as part of Team Canada’s Under 18 national hockey team.

“On behalf of MKO, I want to extend my sincere congratulations to Conner Roulette and his teammates on their exciting win against Russia last night,” shared Grand Chief Garrison Settee. “It’s wonderful to see young people with ties to MKO communities achieve great things, not only for their home communities, but for the entire country. Conner, your accomplishments have made us proud. You are a role model for other young First Nations athletes. We look forward to seeing where your hockey career takes you, including the upcoming NHL draft.”

Conner Roulette is a member of the Misipawistik Cree Nation in Northern Manitoba. Team Canada beat Russia 5 to 3 during the final game of their tournament last night in Frisco, Texas.
