The Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak Inc. (MKO) Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls Liaison Unit invites the public to join us for a full day of activities in recognition of National Day of Awareness for MMIWG2S+, also known as Red Dress Day. Events will take place in Thompson, Manitoba beginning with a free pancake breakfast from 8-10 AM CST at the Ma-Mow-We-Tak Friendship Centre at 4 Nelson Rd. Then we will proceed with Empowerment and Awareness Activities from 12-3 PM CST at the MKO Thompson Office at 55 Selkirk Ave. From 3-4 PM CST, we will host an Awareness March around city centre in Thompson beginning at the MKO Thompson Office. Following the Awareness March, we will host a Community Barbecue from 4-6 PM CST at the MKO Thompson Office Parking Lot. Finally, we will end the day with a Full Moon Ceremony at the UCN Ceremonial Site at 55 UCN Drive (near the tree line).
