MKO is honouring the 215 children who were found buried on the site of the Kamloops Residential School in British Columbia.
On Friday, June 4, 2021, MKO is hosting a virtual ceremony. Activities will include:
- A pipe ceremony
- Hand drum honour song
- Jingle dress dance
- 2 minutes and 15 seconds of silence at 2:15pm

e to attend at the site of the Thompson Urban Aboriginal Strategy School Monument in Lion’s Park, please remember to comply with COVID-19 public health restrictions.
Tobacco ties will be available on site for the general public, if you wish to make an offering. You can also come and pay respects by silent reflection to show your support and respect for the Indigenous children who never made It home.
Please attend one household at a time if you choose to attend at the site. Remain in your vehicle or away from others until it is your turn to offer your tobacco or pay your respects.
