The Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) Community Relations/Indigenous Partnership Section is hosting a unique career workshop on August 19th and 20th for Indigenous community members who are interested in a career with the WPS in either an officer or civilian position.

The focus of this event is recruitment, and their goal is to increase the diversity of the Winnipeg Police Service so that is representative of the Winnipeg Community. Information will be provided on volunteer, cadet, staff, and police officer career opportunities within the WPS and will also have a presentation outlining their hiring process.

They have scheduled various activities over the two days, including interactive case studies, round table discussions, specialized information stations, and special guest speakers.

The event is currently planned to gather in person at the WPS Downtown Headquarters at 245 Smith Street so long as the COVID restrictions at that time allow it. If public health orders do not allow in-person gathering at that time, the dates will be subject to change.
