The Manitoba Accessibility Fund (MAF) for 2022-23 includes $750,000 to be awarded in grants. This amount represents the growth of the government’s $20 million contribution to the Winnipeg Foundation made in March 2021.
Beginning in 2022-23, the Manitoba government will use the yearly return on this investment to remove barriers encountered by persons with disabilities and to promote accessibility, as guided by The Accessibility for Manitobans Act (AMA). Eligibility includes non-profit organizations and businesses on and off reserve that must comply with the law. MAF applications open March 1, 2022. The deadline to submit applications is April 15, 2022. For details about the new grant program, please visit the Manitoba Accessibility Fund.
The Manitoba Accessibility Office is hosting a two-hour webinar to review the MAF guidelines and application form, with time for questions. The webinar will offer captioning and American Sign Language. It will be recorded and added to the supporting resources for MAF.
