The Minoayawin Keewatinowi Askik vaccine project team completed 7 community engagements from June to October 2022. Throughout these community engagements, they received 230 surveys filled out by participants.

In the new year, the project team plans to develop a Vaccine Project Tool Kit and distribute the Tool Kit to the communities. The project aims to be wrapped up by the end of March 2023.

The team wrapped up their engagement phase of the project with a visit from the project’s funders, The Immunization Partnership Fund, at the MKO office on December 1, 2022.

The project’s manager, Roxanne Balan, delivered a presentation on the project’s highlights and the need for continued vaccine promotion and delivery.

The team is looking forward to being back out in the communities to share their new SWAG and vaccine tool kit in the new year!

Keewatinohk Inniniw Minoayawin Inc. (KIM) and MKO held a pop-up vaccine clinic on November 28, 2022, at the KIM office in Winnipeg that was open to the public.

At the clinic, the Minoayawin Keewatinowi Askik Vaccine Project distributed some of their SWAG that declares ‘Spread Kindness, Not the Virus.’
